This course is ideal to those who are new to Microsoft Windows 2000 with the knowledge necessary to understand and identify the tasks involved in supporting Windows 2000 networks.

Aims and Objectives

Describe the fundamentals of TCP/IP including name resolution, routing and IP addressing-classful versus Classless Inter-Domain Routing (CIDR).
Describe the network communication models used in a Microsoft Windows 2000 network.
Describe the principal features of Microsoft Windows 2000 and the basics of networking with Windows 2000.
Describe the types of user accounts and the principal security features of a Microsoft Windows 2000 network.
Identify the tools used to perform various administrative tasks.
Describe the features of the common protocols used in the Microsoft Windows 2000 network.

Target Audiences

This course is to provide individuals who are new to Microsoft Windows 2000 with the knowledge necessary to understand and identify the tasks involved in supporting Microsoft Windows 2000 networks.

Prerequisites

Delegates should be able to use the Microsoft Windows interface to locate, create and manipulate folders and files and to configure the desktop environment and should have general knowledge of computer hardware components. Delegates should also have a general knowledge of networking concepts.
