The Essential Book-keeping Award comprises courses suitable for those with an aptitude for figures who wish to learn manual book-keeping and computerised accounts. On successful completion on this module you could go on to achieve an OCR Level 2 unit qualification.

Aims and Objectives
The Essential Book-keeping Award gives you all you need to get into the world of book-keeping; to get you an interview in a finance department or to be able to manage your own business accounts.
You will also learn manual book-keeping to cover unit 1 of the OCR Level 2 Certificate in Accounting and part of the IAB Level 2 Certificate in Book-keeping examination.

Those people who wish to get a fast-track introduction into accounts, either for personal or business use.
Prerequisites
An aptitude for figures, as well as a high degree of motivation to learn manual book-keeping.

Course Content
Course 1: Book-keeping Level 2 - Module 1 uses real-life scenarios to convey book-keeping topics. You will gain sufficient knowledge to move quickly on to the next course.
Course 2: Sage Line 50 will enable you to apply your manual book-keeping skills to computerised accounts.
Course 3: Microsoft Excel enables you to learn spreadsheet skills to a good working standard.
