Pitman Training Norwich
Pitman Training Norwich has been helping people to gain practical IT, secretarial and office skills for more than 15 years. The Norwich team is committed to supporting learners as they embark on potentially life-changing training.
Pitman Training Norwich operates three centres;
- Pitman House, Recorder Road, Norwich
- The Learning Station, The Forum, Norwich
- The Dereham Learning Station, Trafalgar Business Park, Rashes Green Industrial Estate, Dereham
As well as the full range of Pitman Training short courses and diplomas, the three venues are Learndirect centres. This means students can access a vast number of online courses including skills for life such as literacy and numeracy and NVQs in Customer Service, Management & Leadership and Business Administration.
The Forum Learning Station is also an examination centre for qualifications accredited by City and Guilds, the Association of Accounting Technicians, the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Chartered Insurance Institute. The centre is also a Microsoft Academy and the only Norfolk centre for “Life in the UK” testing; a compulsory home office course for people not automatically entitled to live and work in the UK.

News and Events
Awarded Matrix accreditation

Accreditation has been the culmination of many months hard work changing and refining processes that demonstrated our commitment to ensuring our students receive comprehensive and impartial advice and support from enquiry through to advice on securing a job.
Learner Satisfaction Survey 2011
This year Pitman Training Norwich gained 100% learner satisfaction in their survey (from a sample of 100 students). This is a great achievement and we would like to congratulate all staff for this.
Business community continues to invest in staff training
Despite the challenging economic climate, Pitman Training Norwich is finding that businesses are still prepared to invest in staff training; recognising the value it can bring in terms of improved efficiency, productivity, staff morale and reliability.
“We’re proud to work with organisations such as Bertram Books, Aviva, Holden Car Group and Fosters Solicitors,” says Isobel Woolner of Pitman Training Norwich. “Each organisation has different requirements so we work with in-house training managers to deliver training programmes that are of real value to both individuals and employers.”
The flexibility of the Pitman Training approach means that staff can learn at a training centre, from their own office or from home.
From office cleaner to Executive PA
A mum from Norfolk has thanked Pitman Training Norwich after securing the job of her dreams. Jenny* who is 33, moved to Norfolk for a change of life and worked as an office cleaner whilst bringing up her small daughter. The company she worked for recognised her ambition and gave her the opportunity to move into an office role. Determined to take her career to the next level, Jenny embarked on the Pitman Training Executive PA Diploma at the same time as proving her administrative abilities within the firm. She was offered the job of PA to the Managing Director and says that the skills and confidence that the diploma helped her to develop were a major contributing factor to her getting the job.

Maggie claimed back her confidence thanks to Pitman Training Norwich
When 58-year old Maggie walked into Pitman Training Norwich after being made redundant from her long-term job, she was petrified. “I honestly thought that I was too old to learn, that everyone else would have more experience and the courses would be too advanced for me. But the staff at Pitman Training Norwich were so helpful and welcoming that I needn’t have worried. They found me a course that suited my goals and since completing it I have so much more confidence,” she says.
On the back of her new IT qualification, Maggie has a new job and is continuing to develop her skills.
