Aims and Objectives
It is not about qualifying people as business managers, technical experts, accountants, bookkeepers or any of the other functions undertaken in business and employment. Holders of the ITEC qualification will be able to do all those jobs in business far more effectively because they understand the context of business and can relate what they do to the needs of the business as a whole.
Target Audience
This course is appropriate for owners and managers of any organisation that need to understand more about business and finance. It is also relevant to anyone advising business managers.
Prerequisites
The qualification does not require a great deal of background knowledge. This is not a “Master of Business Administration (MBA)” qualification of the sort taught in graduate universities and business schools. These go into far greater detail and levels of sophistication. This is a starting point to provide the general background as a secure foundation for understanding and working in businesses.
