About This Diploma

As the tech sector continues to be one of the fastest growing employment sectors in Ireland, this unique IT Technical course will empower you to secure an administration role with the confidence to operate and appreciate underlying technical concepts and technologies.

Broken down into clear segments, the format of this exclusively designed course means you get to grips with one skill before starting on the next, and the practical exercises mean you get hands-on experience during the course. You’ll be able to put what you learn into practice immediately.

The comprehensive core areas studied within this Diploma are IT Strata Fundamentals, Communication Skills for IT Specialists, Word and Excel, and you can also choose between PowerPoint and Outlook to ensure you have the right mix of skills. We also include Typing and Effective Business Communication as you will need to maintain a high standard of communications with work colleagues. You get to choose two electives and your training advisor will discuss these with you.

On successful completion of this Diploma you will receive a Pitman Training Diploma that is recognised nationally and internationally by employers, and you will have the skills you need to go on and develop your skills still further. Wherever possible our training is tailored to your needs. The cost of our training programmes depend on the course(s) you choose and varies according to duration and breadth. Rest assured we have a number of payment options available to ensure the cost of training is affordable and can be worked alongside your other financial commitments. Common ways people fund their training include: –

Self-Funded:

  • Flexible payment plans to help you spread the cost* available at many of our centres;
  • You could opt to pay upfront.

Company Funded:

Requesting funding from your employers needn’t be a daunting task. Many employers support and encourage their employees with their professional development and consider it a worthwhile investment to fund any training required.

What we can help with:

  • Providing a comprehensive training programme outlining learning outcomes
  • Tailored personnel letters
  • Communication with finance departments to arrange payment options (upfront or payment plan*).

Funding & Grants:

There may be the opportunity to apply for funded grants that can help towards the cost of training. These include the Skills Development Scotland ITAs and the ReAct programme in Wales. All schemes will have different terms and conditions that will need to be met in order to qualify for a grant and these are managed by each individual centre.

Career Path

Once you have gained your IT Office Administrator Diploma you might decide to further your career towards a more IT Technical role. With further study of courses such as A+, Network+ or Security+ you could look towards roles such as IT Helpdesk Engineer, IT Support Technician etc.
