Why Choose Pitman Training Cardiff

Our story in four steps — from enrolment to employment.

Trusted Brand with History

Over 180 years of training heritage recognised across the UK & Ireland.

Learn at Your Own Pace

Set your own study rhythm. Working nine-to-five? Raising children? Balancing multiple responsibilities? Our training fits your life, not the other way around. Intensive learners complete their qualifications in weeks. Others take a more gradual approach over months. Both paths lead to the same qualification.

Real Support When You Need It

Your designated Learning Coach guides you one-to-one throughout your entire programme. Expect quick responses to questions, sensible solutions when you hit obstacles, and continuous tracking of your progress. Nobody here studies in isolation or without help when needed.

Skills Local Employers Recognise

South Wales organisations – from major corporations to ambitious startups – respect what Pitman Training qualifications mean. Our 1837 founding established a standard for professional education that hiring managers throughout Cardiff still trust today. Your certificate carries real weight in the local job market.

Easy to Reach Location

We face Cardiff Castle in the city's historic heart. The station is just a 10-minute stroll away. Quality learning spaces, welcoming environment, and excellent lunch options all sit moments from our entrance.

Business & Employer Training

Professional services, public sector operations, financial services, and creative industries drive Cardiff’s economy. Our corporate training targets the exact skills gaps these sectors face right now. Direct input from Cardiff organisations shapes what we teach, keeping your staff’s learning relevant to today’s South Wales employment market.

Cardiff businesses choose us to upskill their workforce through corporate programmes running at your workplace or here in the city centre. The central location suits working professionals – employees can attend before starting work, during their lunch hour, or after finishing for the day. Most people remain in full employment throughout their programme.

Organisations developing entry-level talent can access our Business Administration apprenticeships. Contact us to discuss strengthening your team’s capabilities. We’ll create a tailored solution that matches your specific circumstances and business goals. Free skills assessments assess your needs precisely and show exactly how we can develop your team’s abilities.

Our Training

At Pitman Training Cardiff, we’ve been helping people build skills, confidence, and careers for many years. Our results speak for themselves: around 97% of learners achieve a pass or better, and over 70% secure employment within six months of completing their training.

Our qualifications are nationally and internationally recognised, and our flexible training model allows you to start at any time, learning at your own pace with full tutor support.

We begin with an informal one-to-one consultation to understand your current skills, career goals, and ambitions. From there, we’ll recommend the most suitable course or diploma to help you move forward with confidence.

You can train six days a week (Monday to Saturday), including two late evenings until 8pm. Training can take place in-centre, from home, or alongside work. Distance learning is also available, supporting learners across Cardiff, Merthyr, Pontypridd, Tonypandy, Caerphilly, Bargoed, Monmouth, Chepstow, and Brecon.

Whether you’re aiming for a role in administration, finance, IT, web design, or business support, we’ll help you get there.

We work closely with local employers and recruitment agencies, offer free one-to-one CV advice, and run a monthly scholarship programme that provides practical work experience within the centre. Partnerships with organisations such as Office Angels and Now Accountancy help learners transition directly into employment.

We also advise on funding options, including interest-free career development loans, all discussed with one of our friendly course advisors.

REACT Funding for Training Courses in Cardiff, Wales

Have you recently been made redundant? You may be eligible for REACT funding.

If you are serving your notice period or were made redundant within the last three months, the Welsh Government’s REACT scheme may provide up to £1,500 towards training costs to help you retrain and return to work quickly.

We invite you to the centre for a free, informal consultation to discuss your background, career goals, and create a tailored training plan. Alongside training, we provide free CV support and access to live local job vacancies through our employer and recruitment partners.
