My experience at Pitman Training has been both enriching and practical. I enrolled in the Payroll course. The principle of payroll, Sage Business Cloud Payroll to gain comprehensive knowledge and confidence in managing payroll functions in line with UK standards. The course was flexible and well-structured, allowing me to study at my own pace while making consistent progress. During the course, I gained hands-on experience with Sage Business Cloud Payroll, including setting up employee records, processing payments, managing PAYE and NIC, handling statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, and SPP, and completing month-end and year-end reporting. The training also enhanced my understanding of payroll legislation, compliance, and HMRC requirements. In addition to payroll, I completed the Excel 2019 course, which strengthened my ability to analyse and present payroll data efficiently using formulas, pivot tables, and charts. The tutors at Pitman, particularly Parinaz, was highly supportive, providing guidance and constructive feedback throughout my learning journey. Completing this training has significantly strengthened my confidence to perform effectively as a Payroll Assistant, applying both technical and administrative skills in a professional environment.

Before now, I perceived project management as abstruse and requires a great thought to understand. However, through the training provided by Pitman Training, my fears about project management have been allayed. The mystery I previously held about the course were completely demystified by the engaging and accessible mode of digital delivery. This organisation never fail to provide the most worthwhile and educational courses anyone may need – whether that's learning a new skill or brushing up on an area to secure a new job, Pitman offer in-depth knowledge on so many areas. I recently undertook the Medical Terminology course which gave me a great insight into the world of medical administration and how to progress further in my career, the tutors were extremely supportive and provided guidance and assistance whenever it was needed. Cannot fault Pitman Training, they are definitely the best around!

August 2024: I had an AAT exam at Pitman recently and it went really well. Everyone who works there is so friendly and helpful. The building is welcoming and bright. I would really recomend them to anyone. Edit: September 2025: I had another AAT exam at Pitman a few weeks ago and it went very well as well. All the people who work there are very helpful and nice and they answered all my questions on email beforehand. The exam room itself was nice and quiet with pens and paper already set up. I would really recommend Pitman to anyone.

About Our Centre

Our training centre, situated in the bustling city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, is conveniently positioned near the Monument metro station, various public car parks, and the main railway station. If you’re looking for us, you won’t have any trouble locating our centre as it is nestled within the vibrant shopping and restaurant district of Newcastle. Training courses in Newcastle can be found easily in this prime location.

We specialise in training designed to help people get good jobs in the northeast. We have great relationships with local employers and recruitment agencies, which means we really understand what’s needed locally.

We offer the latest facilities to support our students with their training. With more than 20 computer stations, a dedicated exam room for peace and quiet when you need to concentrate most, and our expert staff on hand to support and guide you, you will find training with us an enjoyable and fulfilling experience.

All of our staff are highly competent with Microsoft Office and audio transcription training. We also have a fully trained staff member in Pitman Training accounting courses who can dedicate time to help with any queries around our Bookkeeping, Sage training and Payroll courses.

If you live outside of Newcastle and the surrounding areas and would find it difficult to get in to study at our centre, you could choose to study online via distance learning.
