Sulafa Found Her Confidence Through Computer Skills
Go for it! It’s a great investment in your personal and professional development.
How a Psychology Graduate Strengthened Her Career With ICDL Training
Sulafa Eltag Mohamed Babiker has a BSc in Counselling Psychology, works in Administration. On paper, that sounds fine – degree holder with a steady job. Sulafa knew something was missing, though: Computer skills. The kind that make you efficient at your desk, the kind that stop you second-guessing yourself when someone asks you to format a report or manage data properly.
She had the psychology background, the people understanding, the work ethic, but “I wanted to enhance my computer and administrative skills to become more efficient and confident in my current role, to open up more career opportunities in the future,” she says.
That’s when she found Pitman Training Edinburgh.
Why Pitman Training?
She did her homework, reading what others said, checking the credentials. “I chose Pitman for their excellent reviews and strong reputation for quality training and support,” Sulafa explains. Over 180 years of training heritage meant something – this wasn’t some fly-by-night online course that disappears after you pay.
The ICDL course fit what she needed. The International Computer Driving Licence is recognised by employers across the UK. When they see it on your CV, they know what you can do.
Flexible Learning That Works
Course flexibility mattered to Sulafa. She could study when her schedule allowed, fitting the work around her job and life. What really stood out, though, was the personal touch. “The in-centre support was always helpful and encouraging. The team made sure I had everything I needed to succeed.”
“I enjoyed the welcoming environment, the structured and clear course materials, and the support from the friendly team,” Sulafa says. The Edinburgh team understood that learning can feel stressful when you’re juggling work and life. “It made learning enjoyable and stress-free.”
The Learning Coach Difference
Laoise and Lauryn, Sulafa’s Learning Coaches at Pitman Edinburgh, were there when she hit a wall. “Laoise and Lauryn were always supportive, approachable, and ready to help whenever I had questions,” Sulafa remembers. If she had to describe their guidance? “It made a big difference.” Not just instructors checking boxes – people who cared about her success.
The results speak for themselves. “Yes, it has significantly improved my confidence in using computers and administrative software, which has positively impacted my work and future career plans,” Sulafa shares. That confidence shows up everywhere – at her desk, in meetings, when she’s asked to take on something new.
Her Advice
When asked what she’d tell others thinking about training, Sulafa doesn’t hold back. “Go for it! Pitman provides excellent training and support. It’s a great investment in your personal and professional development.”
She did it. You can too.
