About This Course

Adobe After Effects is a popular programme used by visual artists and designers to design titles, create cartoon characters, and apply animation. It is best used to apply effects after footage has been edited or to create animation and motion graphics from static objects. It is a tool used to create visually appealing motion graphics to enhance a presentation, story, or image.

This After Effects CC course is delivered online, so you can fit your studies flexibly around your existing commitments. Through five main domains in the course, you’ll learn about working in the visual effects and motion graphics industry, creating and modifying visual elements, publishing digital media, and more.

There are 5 domains within this training course:

Domain 1: Purpose, audience and communication, copyright, permission and licensing, motion graphics, and design principles.

Domain 2: Create a Project, organise and customise workspaces, use nonvisible design tools, and import and manage assets.

Domain 3: Use the timeline panel, manage layers, and modify layer visibilty.

Domain 4: Add and animate text, trim footage for compositions, modify and manipulate digital media, apply and adjust affects, create image composites, manipulate and animate images, and create and modify key-frames.

Domain 5: Prepare to export a composition; export a project.

Aims and Objectives

This course is designed to teach you the ins and outs of the After Effects CC software so that you can confidently create motion graphics and special effects used in video, online content, and presentations.  

Pre-Requisites

This course is suitable for beginners. It helps to have experience with Premiere Pro.

Funding & Grants:
There may be the opportunity to apply for funded grants that can help towards the cost of training. These include the Skills Development Scotland ITAs and the ReAct programme in Wales. All schemes will have different terms and conditions that will need to be met in order to qualify for a grant and these are managed by each individual centre.

With a suite of CC training on your CV, you can look towards applying for roles such as Junior Developer or Junior Designer.
