This course covers a wide range of knowledge in the field of technology. Students will learn how a computer works beyond the fundamentals. They will also gain practical knowledge about the technology that surrounds them, which has come to be expected in an increasingly technologyfocused workplace.
Among the topics included in this course are computer hardware and software, the internet, the binary system, computer security, and algorithms.

There may be the opportunity to apply for funded grants that can help towards the cost of training. These include the Skills Development Scotland ITAs and the ReAct programme in Wales. All schemes will have different terms and conditions that will need to be met in order to qualify for a grant and these are managed by each individual centre.
